Pet Owner License Information

Dog Registration:

All dogs four months of age or older must be licensed each year by January 31 (see the Prince William Code Chapter 4, Article IV).

Dog licenses go on sale in November for the coming year and may be purchased by mail, at the Animal Shelter, downloaded from the County Web site at Dog License Application Form or from any Taxpayer Services Office. The fee is $5.00 per dog. A current rabies vaccination certificate must be shown for each dog to be licensed.

Cats Registration:
Cats four months of age or older must have a current rabies vaccination (see the Prince William Code Chapter 4, Article V).
