Prince William County Car Repair Shops

There are lots of Prince William County car repair shops. But which is the right one for you?

We all want the same thing when looking for a place to fix our automobile when it's broken. We a car mechanic who is experienced, honest, trustworthy and fair. We don't want to get ripped off.

The problem is that cars today are so complicated that very few of us can really know what is wrong with the car or what needs to be done to fix it. We hear a squeek or a whine. Maybe it just won't start up. Whatever the symptoms -- finding the cure can be difficult and expensive.

The main thing I want is to know that my mechanic knows what he's talking about and won't charge me for services or parts I don't need.

Of course if your vehicle is still under warranty you will want to take it to a dealership for repair. Even if the repair is not covered under warranty, the dealership might find something else in need of repair that is. Or part of it might be covered. For me, if I'm still under warranty, I'm going to the dealership.

If not under warranty, the dealership is still good. But, probably more expensive than an independent shop. And, given that the vehicle is probably getting older -- maybe you don't want to put too much into it.

And, this is when it gets tough -- finding a quality independent car mechanic in Prince William County.

The best way to find one is to ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc for any recommendations they might have.

I've used the Exxon on Minnieville and Dale Blvd and was generally happy with them.

We also used a guy on 234 down by Route 1. I can't remember the name though. Will check with my wife and get back with you.
